چکیده

An innovative approach allowing to rigorously address surface curvature and lighting effects in Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is proposed. We draw inspiration from the research work Computer Vision (CV) regarding physical modelling of a camera adopt it bring novel significant capabilities for full-field measurements experimental solid mechanics. It gives rise unified framework global stereo DIC that we call Photometric (PhDIC). based on irradiance equation relies considerations explicit assumptions, which stands clear breakthrough compared usual grey level conservation assumption. Most importantly, allows define Twin Region Interest, makes possible compare model with different observations (real images taken viewpoints). This results consistent formalism throughout framework, suitable large-deformation large-strain displacement measurements. The potential PhDIC illustrated real case. Multi-view are first used measure (or scan) shape albedo (sometimes called intrinsic texture) an open-hole plate. kinematic basis considered measurement associated Finite-Element mesh. Results two completely sets pictures. Eventually, large structure measured using well-chosen single image.

Displacement monitoring of a Long-Span Arch Railway Bridge using Digital Image Correlation (DIC)

There is an escalating demand for condition monitoring enhancement of transport infrastructures worldwide. Bridges are of vital importance in transportation infrastructure and need such monitoring. In this research, a non-contact vision-based technique called Digital Image Correlation (DIC) was used to calculate the bridge displacements. A high frame rate camera with 4K capability was used for ...

A Robust Digital Image Watermarking Scheme Based on DWT

In this paper a wavelet-based logo watermarking scheme is presented. The logo watermark is embedded into all sub-blocks of the LLn sub-band of the transformed host image, using quantization technique. Extracted logos from all sub-blocks are merged to make the extracted watermark from distorted watermarked image. Knowing the quantization step-size, dimensions of logo and the level of wavelet tra...

On the Use of Acoustic Emission and Digital Image Correlation for Welded Joints Damage Characterization

A series of tests have been conducted to investigate fatigue damage characterization in corroded welded steel plates using structural health monitoring (SHM) techniques. Acoustic Emission (AE) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique with potential applications for locating and monitoring fatigue cracks in service. In the present work, AE is implemented to characterize damage during crack e...

A three-frame digital image correlation (DIC) method for the measurement of small displacements and strains

Digital image correlation (DIC) has become a well-established approach for the calculation of full-field displacement and strains within the field of experimental mechanics. Since their introduction, DIC methods have been relying on only two images to measure the displacements and strains that materials undergo under load. It can be foreseen that the use of additional image information for the ...
